A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words

Can You Get Fat Eating Lettuce? I think the furry fellow on the right should answer that question.

Meet Herman, a German rabbit who tips the scales at 22 pounds. His owner, Hans Wagner, pictured here struggling to hold his prize pet, says that Herman’s very favorite food is lettuce!

“He can never get enough of it,” Hans says.

Whoa, did you say lettuce? I thought that was diet food!

Is anyone thinking what I’m thinking? The new Weight Watchers program allows its members not only to consume all the low-starch vegetables they want, but also fruit! Fruit is now free! How can that be?

Probably nobody ever got fat eating too many apples and bananas.  But if you’re a bulk eater who longs to eat lots of everything, chances are when you “cave to the crave,” you consume too much of the wrong kinds of foods and that’s what puts on the pounds.

This may not go down well with some folks, but I’d like to suggest that we consider not how much we eat, but how well we eat. Herman is an excellent example of the  pitfalls of wanting to eat constantly. You know how it goes: one day lettuce, the next day carrot cake.

Silly Wabbit.

I think I was on the same “diet” as Herman yesterday. Poor guy really needs a WW meeting. 🙂
