Another “Indestructible” Dog Toy Bites the Dust

by Anne Bennett on April 8, 2013

Whitman, the white pup on the right with a mohawk, is spending the week with Julia and Lulu. Here they are playing three-way keep-away with a brand new dog toy.

When they were finished playing, I had to toss it out. I’d make a zillion bucks if I could design a dog toy that lasted longer than one measly game of keep-away.

Any viable design ideas would be much appreciated.  These are obviously hungry poodles.

Can’t help you, since Alfie doesn’t play with toys. Nothing. Doesn’t chase balls, doesn’t chew on cloth toys, isn’t interested in squeaky toys. I tried tossing a ball in the back yard when I first got him and all he did was look at me like “no wonder you never made the major leagues with an arm like that.” He does chase live squirrels & rabbits, though fewer as he gets older, so I’m going to find a cloth version, tie it to a fishing line and cast it into the back yard. Maybe If I reel it in fast, he’ll go after it. That, or he’ll look at me again with that “You idiot” look.

Mike, I’m thinking that Alfie is too smart to fall for the fishing line trick. Don’t give him another chance to give you the “idiot” look.
