Easter Poodle

by Anne Bennett on April 16, 2017

What do you do when there are no longer any children at your house and it’s Easter and you want to get in the spirit? You call upon Julia, Easter Poodle!

Whole Foods was giving out bunny ears to all the kids, and when they asked if I had a little one at home, of course I said YES!

Note to self: dogs, even coiffed poodles, do not like donning stupid human costumes. First I ran Julia up and down the street a few times on the premise that tiring her out would make her less resistant to looking ridiculous.

It didn’t work: I’m the only one who got tired. Julia still had plenty of energy left to wiggle and shake her head and generally resist all attempts at an adorable pose. This is the best of the lot; a few seconds afterwards the ears went flying.

Happy Easter, everyone, from Whitman, Lulu, Julia, Gato and me.

Cute…she doesn’t look grubby from her run, and she even cooperated for a photo!

That said, I put a harness on Missy Moto…once. It was like that chapter in Tom Sawyer, “The Cat and the Painkiller.” Yikes. I haven’t tried bunny ears. Maybe next year….

Ha ha, God bless you for trying! Maybe Gato would have been more receptive to the pink ears……..hmm, maybe not!

Happy Easter dear friend xoxoxo
