Naked Chicken Nuggets

by Anne Bennett on December 22, 2010

It was bound to happen. Someone had to come up with a healthy chicken nugget that would appeal to both kids and adults.

Enter Eric and Bruce Bromberg, chefs and restaurateurs behind the highly successful Blue Ribbon restaurants in New York. The brothers originally developed the nugget recipe for their own children on the premise that popular kid-eats shouldn’t have to be deep-fried and loaded with fat and preservatives.

And as is usually the case with a brilliant idea, almost overnight it has become a successful business: Blue Ribbon Naked Chicken Nuggets.

These little morsels are almost too good to believe: they’re made of 100% all-natural, lightly seasoned white meat chicken, they’re gluten-free, allergen-free and have no trans fat. And get this: 7 nuggets come in at only 110 calories!

They’re available at Costco, which is where I’m headed this morning right after I post this. I’m thinking holiday appetizers with several dipping sauces. A little protein mixed in with the Christmas cookies can’t be a bad thing, right?.
