The Choices We Make

by Anne Bennett on September 10, 2013

At Weight Watchers we talk a lot about the choices we make. Gaining weight is not something that happens to us. It’s a result of the food we choose to eat.

Like it or not, we are responsible for what happens to us. I know, that’s a tough pill to swallow, but there’s an upside to this realization: we go from being passengers in our lives to sitting in the driver’s seat. And you have to admit — you can get a lot more accomplished when you’re doing the driving.

This commercial, for a beer of all things, is a beautiful, powerful example of how we choose to live. The quote at the end says it all:

“The choices we make reveal the true nature of our character.”

Thank you for this post. I have been thinking about this a lot lately and have come to realize that our choices keep us from living a life that we maybe think we don’t deserve.

Well said, Camille.

American women need to stop being so darn nice & put themselves higher on their priority list.
